RCA Capital Trends in the US
The year over year (YOY) increases generally reflect how poor last year was due to Covid. July sales reflected a YOY volume change of 74%, prices were up 11.8% on $38.8 billion in transaction volume.
Sectors that were severely hurt by covid are now showing significant increases, but velocity is still lagging. The Hotel sector was up 252% for the month of July and up 255% YTD.
Investors continue to be more focused on Apartments and Industrial sectors. Apartments still lead in volume and constituting 35% of the total commercial real estate investment sales for the month of July, down slightly from 37% YTD.
